Positive School Culture
PBIS: Hawthorne Hearts
Through our Hawthorne Hearts PBIS program, students are celebrated for showing positive behavior, kindness, respect, and responsibility. This schoolwide initiative helps create a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment.
PBIS Christmas Pop-Up Shop
Our PBIS Christmas Pop-Up Shop gave students the opportunity to use earned rewards to shop for holiday items. This fun experience encouraged positive choices while spreading joy throughout the school.

Atlanta Skyhawks Game
Hawthorne students enjoyed an exciting experience at an Atlanta Skyhawks game, building school spirit and creating memorable learning connections beyond the classroom.
STEM Parent Week
STEM Parent Week welcomed families into the STEM classroom to participate in hands-on activities with their children. This event strengthened family engagement and allowed parents to experience STEM learning in action.
STEM Career Day
During STEM Career Day, students explored careers in science, technology, engineering, math, public safety, media, and more. Community professionals inspired students to dream big and make real-world career connections.
Academic Excellence & Recognition
John Hancock Signature Award
Hawthorne Elementary is proud to be recognized with the John Hancock Signature Award, highlighting our commitment to excellence, student achievement, and impactful school programming.
Hear Our Voices
Our students proudly participated in Hear Our Voices, showcasing their creativity and talent through multimedia, poetry, and narrative writing. We are especially proud to celebrate four student winners, including two in Narrative Writing, one in Poetry, and one in Multimedia, highlighting the strength of student voice and excellence in literacy at Hawthorne Elementary.
Challenge 24
Through Challenge 24, students strengthened their math fluency, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills in a fun and competitive setting.
Science Fair
The Science Fair encouraged students to ask questions, conduct investigations, analyze results, and present their scientific thinking with confidence.
Literacy & Academic Competitions
Reading Bowl
Our Reading Bowl Team represented Hawthorne with excellence and earned 4th place in the district competition. Their hard work reflects a strong love for reading and teamwork.
Spelling Bee
The Spelling Bee celebrated vocabulary, confidence, and perseverance as students demonstrated their spelling skills in front of peers and judges.
Student Support & Growth
Year-Long Afterschool Academic Support
Hawthorne provided year-long afterschool academic support for 168 students. This program offered targeted reading and math instruction to help students build skills, confidence, and academic growth.
